Gameplay and storywise, Final Fantasy Tactics was one of the best games of all time. Considering FFXII is made by the same team, I wonder why even I doubted how good this game was going to be. Is it perfect? Of course not. But it will suck you in so much you wont even notice its minor flaws. From the almost 10 miniute long FMV intro to the genuine characters you'll meet along the way, FFXII is one of the games that only comes along once in a blue moon.

Apr. 7th, 2006 @ 04:28 pm Red Sox, better, worse, or Same
My look at the new and improved 2006 Red Sox by position. Let's get this started:

1st Base:
Defensively: Better. Johnny Olerud was great and Millar Passable, but both Youkillis and J.T. Snow I expect to shine defensively.
Offensively: ? Dunno here as this will be Youk's first full time season, Snow should be ok, so we'll see.

2nd Base:
Defensively: Same. I'd say Cora is a great backup and Loretta is as good as Graffanino.

Offensively: Better if Loretta is healthy.

3rd Base:
Defensively: Same or better. Lowell did just win a gold glove, but Meuller was always great as well.

Offensively: Huge question mark here. I've heard rumour Lowell's 2005 was bad because he was a former steroid user. Who knows, but the issue seems to be bat speed, which I don't know how much steroids would have helped there, could be he really just had a bad year, he's had some good at-bats so far in the first 3 games. He seems like a nice guy, so I hope he does well and I hope the steroid rumours I've heard are just attempts by people to explain his bad year. We'll see

Short Stop:
Defensively: I'm pretty sure Kyle could have played a better short stop than Edgar Renteria did last year.
Offensively: Probably less. But I don't care, I'll take decreased offense over 30 error.

Left Field:
Just Manny being Manny

Center:
Defense: Same abouts I'd say. I'll miss that long haired dude crashing into walls out there though. /cry

Offense: So far its looked promising. I liked Coco Crisp even when he played for the Indians so I have High hopes.

Right Field:
Defense: Same as always, good old Dirt Dog Nixon. Mo Pena looks iffy as a backup, but he was aquired for his offensive potential. So maybe a decrease for the backups, though the others (Stern, Kapler, will probably move around a bit through the year)should provide defensive backup.

DH: Good old Papi

Starting Pitching: Better Better Better. A healthy shilling, Beckett, less pressure on Clement, Wells, reliable Wake, and Papelbon for a backup all make for a strong starting staff.

Bullpen: Jury's still out on this one.

Rubble. That's all that was left of what used to bethe greatest city the world had ever seen. A wonderous and magical place once, full of life, only death lived there now. The city, Quel' Athas, ruduced to rubble and ash, its once wonderous sandy beaches turned into a desert of glass from unimaginable fires. Not a single building was left standing, not a single statue, not a single fountain or wall, not a single cobblestone spared. All was destroyed save for a single tower from the king's castle, that of his most trusted advisor, the powerful mage known only as The Pheonix. At the foot of this tower stood the most curious of sights, two swords, all but identical save for differing runes on the blades.
This was the scene which the adventuring sorceror Cade came upon, a scene which he could scarecly believe. Not 3 months back he recalled, all had been well in the city. Its newly crowned king recently married, a place full of hope and life. All gone, with not a single survivor. "But From What?" Cade thought. It seemed unimaginable then anything could cause such destruction. That was when he heard it...

You scored as SG-1 (from Stargate). You are versatile and diverse in your thinking. You have an open mind to that which seems highly unlikely and accept it with a bit of humor. Now if only aliens would stop trying to take over your body.

Feb. 1st, 2006 @ 03:25 pm Johnny Damon: From Idiot to Just plain Stupid
So I read this article online today with quotes from Johnny Damon saying Ramirez should come play for the yankees, and how Ortiz and Ramirez would be perfect fits there. I'll spare your various Angry Red Sox fan statemants such as "Fuck you and the horse you rode off on Damon" and "Stay the fuck away from our two favorite players", the whole thing isn't going to win him any new fans anywhere. Is he trying to piss off his new team-mates? Many of whom probably don't like Manny. Also did Damon like forget, you know that whole Matsui person? Also did he forget the fact that Manny has no real say in where he'd be traded to? God. Just shut up man. He's winning over no-one in New York and just pissing off the fans he supposedly loved even further. You miss your two Dominican buddies from Boston? FINE, find a more tactful way to say it dude. Also maybe like, look at where Manny actually wanted to be traded to as well? New York was not on the list. If he really wants to be traded due to privacy issues, then how exactly is New York a "Perfect Fit"?

Seriously though, just shut up. You've already proven you're a lying sack of crap, don't make it worse.

Dec. 27th, 2005 @ 11:40 am 2005 in Review!
January- Winter Vacation, lots of Halo, did we do anything else special? No? I think Matt Clement and Renteria had signed with the Red Sox by now, and fans were asking, "Can Clement handle the pressure?" and "What the hell was wrong with Cabrera (spelling?). That's about it.

Febuary- I should have been buying red Sox Tickets here but I'm an idiot.

March- Back in the full swing of school and cursing my Chemistry class. Woo One year aniversary with Karly! :-D

April- Baseball Season begins! and both the Red Sox and yankees blow to start the year!

May-I finally finish chemistry. Thank god.

June- Start a new internship making some good money. Woo.

July- My grandfather dies, god rest his soul. I have to fly down in a hurry to Atlanta. My grandad would be happy to know that we spent the time down there better getting to know reletives we hadn't seen in years.

August- Road Island and more interning! We made another Noah movie in road island, which still isn't done. Noah?

September- Internship continues part time. School starts again, bleh. Looks to be an easier semester, what with softball and all. Then I dislocate my elbow badly in said softball class. DOH.

October- Likes of physical theropy here to get my elbow back into shape. Which only serves to make school harder. Things are ok though. Red Sox get knocked out by the eventual world champs, and the Braves and Astros play an epic 18 inning game that I wish my granddad had seen (he was a Braves fan but I think he would have enjoyed it).

November- More school, good trip to Delaware, and a good thanksgiving, though without Karly :(.

December- Theo Epstien gone, Damon gone, but a solid Red Sox team still in place despite holes at short and center. Millar is gone, which I'm kinda saddened by, but it looks as though Youk may be the new first basemen. We'll see. I get graduate and get offered a fool time job, woo!

All and all, a C+ year.
Miss you Grandad.
